Yes, but Amiga.org moderators have to actually WRITE for the magazine, so there's a trade off. :)

Then I'm sure I could be convinced to write some AROS related Articles ;-)

I would apply if I:
1) Was less biased.
2) Had more time.

Hmm.. Yeah, Kees needs help badly... Seeing he's beginning to mix up people  ;-)  (Kees knows what I mean)

I'd like to apply, would help to forget my current state of affairs (so to speak) but I'm afraid I won't be onboard to long if everyhtings turns ok for me..

So Kees, how many applied ? Any lurkers out there take the bait ?

OK, I accept the position when do I start.

:-)

Well, don't rush to your mailbox, there's no e-mail there.....just kidding.

But to all those of you who figured you wouldn't be qualified, you are all qualified, in my opinion.  Send Kees an e-mail if you are interested....don't disqualify yourself.

Speaking as an amiga.org regular reader, I would be glad to have any one of you as a moderator.

I would be the perfect moderater!

* Never used an Amiga or amiga emulator in my life
* Have made about 4 posts on Amiga.org
* Only joined to say a few things in the "Atari ST, our old nemisis" thread, because I use Ataris
* I spend most of my time on Atari site and ebay, not Amiga.org

That's as unbiased and objective as you get! *cough*

Seriously, I hope you do find a good moderator... good moderators are really important for the spirit of an online community I think. They should certainly not be in it because they want power just for the sake of having power. Those sorts of people are usually the worst! Amiga.org seems to have a pretty good spirit to me. Hope it stays that way!

Well, I applied. Figured since I got the time and do keep myself civilized most of the time...  :-D

jokes aside, I think a moderator should be able to see something from every angle and not put his or hers opinion into the decision wheter to keep posts free or to change them, and I'm good at seeing things from all sorts of angles.

I would apply, Kees, but I like having a girlfriend and as much as I love amiga,  amiga doesn't put out.  :-P

Seriously though, I lost a lady 'cos of my Miggy before, so whoever takes the job, I wish you all the best. You have strength that I never could. I'm WAY too much of a hornball.

You shouldn't be amazed at how difficult that is.

For starters, if I'm on any of the sides in the AOS/MorphOS/AROS split, I'm more inclined towards AOS.  Because I know what troll posts irritate me to a certain extent, I know they'll irritate the more rabid AOS fans far more.  However, I'm not a MorphOS/AROS fan, so I don't know what kind of comments would irritate me (beyond the obvious '.... is a load of crap', or something), so I tend to let another moderator pick up on those.  I might draw other moderators' attention towards particular potentially-suspect posts as well.

(Hypothetically speaking now) Then, the balance needed is altogether different.  From that perspective, AO staff ought to be 'aligned' to different sides to begin with to provide a balance.

(More reality speaking now) I think the above paragraph needs to be part of our (AO staff's) focus in finding a new moderator.

All of that aside, I try my best to be an 'outside onlooker' to content in these forums.  I try to judge them from how a techie stumbling on this website would think of the forum content.
