I had thought that's what they were aiming for all along anyway. They're pretty much doing what they said they'd be doing 8 years ago.

What a heck was Amiga Anywhere 1 anyway? There is an upgrade but we don't know for what? Wow does this mean that the new operating system will be so fast that we won't even see it? LOL  :getmad:

Someone wake me up when this is reviewed by a trusted source. We got screwed the first time around when we bought AmigaDE so we are sitting this version out for now. It is called Amiga Anywhere but does it run on Amiga OS? Uh....  NO!

The most interesting Q&A to me is:

Q:  I have heard about something called "OS5". Is this the same thing?
A:  No. AA2 and the product often referred to as OS5 are entirely separate distinct products.

Certainly not what was said at the (next to the) CES show.

Sorry guys, but can anyone take anything coming from Amiga Inc seriously?
Their press releases hardly qualify as news items anymore. They seem more like spam mail to me.
Think of it - OS5? AA2? QNX? WTF?
The only thing that I did actually buy and use on my Amiga lately was OS4 - and Amiga Inc has had nothing to do with it. Let go of it guys...

"to registered Amiga SDA developers"

It is a very elegant definition of the number of zero.

Amigainc go home.

The Circle is complete !

Amiga Inc, is....just a spanish word for an Asset Stripping and poor attempt at a future Patent and IP Ambulance Chasers (AO5,Amiga Anywhere and DE, are just setting up evidence for later Lawsuits).

Its all about the Courts and the Lawyers paychecks and earning a living on the flesh of the fallen, Its not about product and customers.

:(
was Enterprise Vault (Its an Exchange Fail!), now its EMC Avamar, Dedupe for mostly everything including brain cells.

I programmed for AA.  Or as it was then Amiga DE.  It's a good system to develop for.  The VP assembler was very intuitive and easy to learn.  It was a great system (Albeit a TAO system).

But why would I devote time to learning AA2 when we all know what happened with AA.  Nothing.  The dreams and aspirations were not followed through - which I suspect will happen with this.

I won't be devoting my time and putting my energy into this - I don't need any more useless CD's in the attic thank you.

Shame.

I think McEwen has just told the community (again) what he thinks of it - by ignoring it.

The Amiga is dead - long live AROS.

Yes, DE was a very nice system, performed well too.  As I said then however, tying the very core to your system to a 3rd party is a recipe for suicide, as shown by Tao going under and taking Intent with it.
