AmigaOS4 for Classic Amiga will ship November 30

On November 30 AmigaOS4 will ship for Classic Amigas. Hyperion made the announcement at AmiWest banquet. The following will be included in the package:

* CD-Rom with AmigaOS4
* One floppy disk to boot your Amiga. No pre-installed OS will be needed
* Manual

At last! Now all i want to hear is a reasonable price. I've heard some rumors about at least 100 euros. Let's hope that they are just rumors

I wonder how good it will be though. it appears that there is no support for G-Rex busboards at all. A4000 mediator users might get a usable system, but a1200 ones will get crap as far as I can tell... because there is also no support for the trick that mediator1200 does so it uses the vga vram as DMA buffer (or something like that...)

Both Mediator 1200 & 4000 use the DMA trick. It does mean that if you use the native OS4 mediator support, it limits the cards you can use (10mbit realtek card instead of 100mbit for example. Not that the 100mbit card ever went much faster than 10mbit in a mediator anyway).

However, if you want, you can remove the native drivers for the cards in your mediator and still use Elboxes 68k drivers. They even work with the native Picasso96.
