@billt

It doesn't answer the question, however.

Anyhow, just grabbed ASUS P5B-E, IntelĀ® Core(TM)2 Duo E6320, 2 x 1GB PC2-6400, passively cooled NVIDIA 7600 GT, 320GB SATA2 HDD, DVD+RW + stuff for around 600 eur. Running at 2.8GHz (those core2 chips overclock like mad :-)) this rig will take care of my dualcore needs for a while...

To all the negatives out there:  What if they don't deliver?  How will this affect your life?  Are you not sleeping until you see a new Amiga?

If all this is true however I'd like to have a picture of every A.org member's face that day  :-D

Even when Adam is trying hard, ne never can get en par with iWin. Not even "Dr" Ryan Czerwinsky was able to keep up with iWin. And Ryan was really trying hard...

@koaftder:

Hee hee.

Of course, it's a very nice-performing chip, and PA, unlike certain manufacturers of yore and present, may know better than to price it into the ground whilst seeking applications and adoption.

Specs..seem great..but..is there anyway you can get the price down a BIT..or atleast offer a cut down version..Also..
is the case just going to be some off the self..deal or custom
case that says and shows everyone that this is an AMIGA!!!

The sooner you can present Visuals..of what these will look like
the better..
Any chance for a FIREWIRE ports..def. key for downloading video..and doing a bit post

Maybe it's not any faster.

>Are you going to get this HW released to the market, too, rather than just making yet another broken promise?
Why would Bill be different now ? :)

So that other system costs $500 and is going to be 400Mhz or 600 soemething if we are really really lucky, but...

...this beast (which Amiga OS does not even work with yet) is ony $1,500 and is so much faster than the other offering...

...does not make sence.

 Anyhow, what will we do with all this power assuming it's for real? Amiga has NO cool apps such as Multiquence, Video Editing, Video Capture, 3D Modelling, NOTHING! We got outdated web browsers and other light weight business and old school software and that's it. Nothing multimedia like in the old days. So I wonder why we really need all this beef?

 I'll believe it when I see it.
Earth has a lot of things other folks might want... like the whole planet. And maybe these folks would like a few changes made, like more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and room for their way of life. - William S. Burroughs

@Itix

I'm following the scene since the beginning, I remember seeing a LOT of vapourware announced but I don't just get why many people are still feeling the need to flame every bit of news about the amiga they see.

I left Slashdot because of this, I can't stand those "know-it-all nerds" arguments anymore.    If Ainc don't show up with a real product, well its gonna be their problem.  There is absolutely no point of announcing a product and not sell it.

They can't lose the (very) little credibility they have left.

Unless they placed a monkey in their offices and he's pushing the buttons since 5 years :P
