I like the fact that I can download most programs, drop the app into the Applications directory (or anywhere really) and it will run.

Linux you have to figure out dependences, get them installed, then install the program you want, then figure out how the hell to get it onto the start menu, assuming you can find the executable somewhere in the cryptic file structure.

What linux needs is something like OSX to make it accessible to the masses, and the lazy like me! Then I would be happy to go over to it :-D
