Maybe they have come to an arrangement with A.inc

Curiously, this part is missing.
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

A step in the right direction. Let's hope confirmation of SAM's OS4 license is the followup.

I think that at Acube no one is mad. So They will selling amiga os4 but not to sell with their MAIN product is a kind of self punishment...
I don't read any amiga inc related licence about os4, but remember in the '80 ibm lost his platform because of retro-engineering. Simply Things just run on non ibm machines too.

Depends how you interpret this?
"ACube will act as a worldwide distributor of Hyperion's Amiga OS 4.0 operating system"

Maybe they have come to an arrangement with A.inc

If they did, that would have made massive headlines everywhere with every single OS4 supporter crowing as loud as they could.  From everything I've been reading from contract (although it wasn't the final version) being published on the Net to RVBB's statements on licenseing issues, you'll find why I made that statement.  Everything I ever remember reading clearly specified that OS4 could *only* run on licensed hardware.  That covered Eyetech's back as well as Amiga Inc (since they both have a stake in hardware licensing fees).

I think they are putting the best face forward on this as they have little else to show. They could have easily said clearly what the status of SAM is, they chose not to do so.  That is saying alot by ignoring it entirely.

It looks like ACube is a hardware outfit. Are we seeing a new production run of some hardware that Amiga will allow to be sold with AOS4? That was the sticking point keeping Hyperion from making any money, right?

@mx3

There's a typo in the link section of uoyr news item.

Within the framework of the partnership ACube will act as a worldwide distributor of Hyperion's Amiga OS 4.0 operating system for a range of PPC hardware platforms including AmigaOne (MicroA1, SE/XE) and Classic Amiga.

Would this "range of PPC hardware platforms" eventually include the Wii & PlayStation3? :-?

Only if they become licensed hardware platforms.

Can't we all just read it for what it is and not pick it apart to read into it what we want?

They have a license to sell and distribute Amiga OS 4.0 from Hyperion. Seems that ACube may think, by my reading into it, that this may help or lead into them getting a license for thier PPC hardware. Let's all wait to see it that announcement comes.

The way I see it is that Acube will be producing 3 AmigaOnes - SE/XE and Micro.

I guess Sam will either be SE or micro.
