Problems installing SCSI 9 gig Quantum
« on: October 20, 2003, 07:39:16 PM »
I'm having a problem installing a 9 gig
Quantum Atlas SCSI drive.
I'm tring to use the external scsi port on my A3k
I have a WarpEngine 040-40mhz and OS 3.9.
If I understand correctly OS 3.9 should handle this
drive as long as no partition is larger than 8 gigs.
I plan to break it up  into atleast 3 partitions so
the 8 gig barrier isn't a problem.
My problem is that HDTools says this drive is not
supported.  I've tried different jumper settings but
the end result is the same .. "not supported".
I ran into this same problem on another drive
and never solved that problem so it must be
something I'm doing wrong. 'BUT WHAT'???
Any help here would be greatly appreciated....
