ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa rite, so to view the file correctly, you have to have the info set up correctly, and because windows truncuated the file names, the .info was set up wrong, so the file was set up wrong... :-) is that correct?

finished my cornetto, now to work  :-)

i couldn't download you're files, mainly because i didn't have time, and secondly, cause internet explorer, nor getright acknowledged the file without an extension, so it was trying to download the folder... so maybe if you renamed it to anything... but besides that...

I follwed you're instructions, first time i think  ;-)  :-D and i managed to get a connection, by what i mean i ran the config file on the pc and then i ran "PC2AMIGA.exe", and it went:

amiga<-->pc transfferrer
Dos 7.0+ detected, using long filenames.
B4 it gave me the general error of "there could be one of four problems".

But nothing appeared to happen on the amiga, (probably cause the amiga has not been configured nor has it got anything to run) so i ran the file on the pc: PC2AMRES.exe it says this:

amiga<-->pc transfferrer
Dos 7.0+ detected, using long filenames.
Resident Installed

and in a big box of stars, it then says:

Microsoft Windows Program pop-up support

Your pop-up program is ready to run. When you have finished, press ctrl+c to exit this program and return to windows.

How about some1 other than the kind ryu gives me an answer?  :-P  :-D  :-P

P.S. does uppercase and lowercase matter for the files that i put on the amiga that windows truncuated?

amigaos isnt case sensetive i dont think, but its always good to use case :-) as for the PC... im not sure of, its slightly different in the commercial package i use, just has a config and a server, both are DOS programs...

anyway the files are still there for you to get... oh and you must run the PC side first then the amiga... if you cant get my files its dead easy to run the amiga config and follow the steps, anything you dont understand just click next, all you should need to do is tell it to use parallel and the special 8 wire if thats what you have.

ummmmmmmmm, since i had to manual install because it didn't want to run installer, i thought you might have guessed that config didn't run either, so...

1.) where do i put the pc and pc.info?
2.) what do i run on the amiga side? and since my files are "broken"!?!?!? what do i do if i can't?

yeah I had figured that....

I had already said in a previous post you can put PC and PC.info anywhere you like, so long as their kept together... I have it directly in my workench partition so all I have to do is open workbench and double click on PC to mount the network. If it wont n run then well your screwed cos I dont know what to do....

and then do i double click on that to do the link?

anyway, think about it, if you keep on helping an amiga novice, i.e. some1 who only knew how to put things into an amiga drive and make the games work  :-D  oh and playing mods and watching pictures, then eventually you'll get to like cult member or somthing  :-)

im sure ive already said the files you got from me are called PC and PC.info... they together (.info being the icon) are the moutfile for the network.... the moutfile contains the configuration. Stick them both ANYWHERE on your HDD, both in the SAME location, then DOUBLE CLICK on the PC icon once the PC side of the network is running, and it should work... if it doesnt then I dont know... it should be setup fine if youve followed my simple step by step instructions... The only way I can help further is if i drove down and did it myself.....

ummm, ok i've bugged you enough, i'll re-read the guide, then re-read it, then download some more files, shove them somewhere, and hope it works, thanks anyway.
