hi guys!
i bought an amiga 1200 from e-bay.
don't know the stats yet, need to open it up but anyway... I want to connect it to my network, but it ain't have a cd drive, and i don't want to get 500 floppy disks, stick sellotape to all of them :-D and then get every little bit of samba onto it :-P .
But i noticed in the back of the box there was a parralel cable which i've plugged into my laptop and my 1200, and i later discovered a piece of paper saying amiPC etc. but there was no software for the pc, or the amiga for that matter. I e-mailed the guy and he said it was all lost when he moved house. I went to the amiPC website, and i e-mailed them to ask them to send me the software, but they never replied, they are probably defunct now or somthing...
I know the parrallel cable works, cause i made a direct cable connection to my computers with it, so that's ok. I looked on the internet for the software, but i couldn't find it. This is the search for it on google, n.b. the -engine is there cause it kept on coming up with the emulators:
google search for it.
I tried using windows "direct cable connection" but it didn't do anything :-( but that's probably cause the amiga wasn't expecting anything?!?!
The laptop runs windows ME, but that shouldn't matter, cause if i have to , i can connect it up to another computer running both XP, and '98. The miag runs kickstart 39.106, and workbench version 40.42 . Please don't make me go through 500 floppied just to get samba on :-P
teh win.
thanks
