May I just ask what is the point of these 32-bit icons?
Seems like a waste of time to me.

@Ima..

True they will require more storage and horsepower to render.

However, the plus points of the patch are

1) All OS3.5/3.9 icons can now use their full colours without having to get pens from the workbench. That in itself is a good thing!

2) Many people like antialiased true colour imagry on their desktop.

IIRC, you got a Pegasos recently, I thought youd approve ;-)

Your system must fly with 2-color Icons!  Do a lot of Shell-work? Why even start WorkBench?  :-P

Also worth noting is that Windows is now probably the only OS without support for >256 color icons.
Heck, it doesn't even support 8-bit custom palette yet.

Good work Elena.

imaboringperson: progress isn't a bad thing y'know. 24-bits is a minimum requirement these days. Absolute minimum even. And being an Amiga user is no excuse :-)
*Zap! Zap!* Ha! Take that! *Kabooom!* Hey, that\'s not fair!

I guess if you think about it, it does seem over kill.  To reach the maximum potential of 24 bit color, an Icon would have to 4096 x 4096 pixles big and then it would just be a giant dither with every single pixel being a different color.  Might be hard to see too since I only run my Workbench at 1024 x 768.  :-D

Still though, the PNG icons look way cooler then the standard 256 color ones.  I think this program pretty much rocks!   :-)

Back in my day, we didn\'t have water. We only had Oxygen and Hydrogen, and we\'d just have to shove them together.

Ciao

PS- in the near future, that patch will be inserted inside PowerIcons

First of all . . . I suggest you to be more educated, in the cares of other people's job and second if you wish . . . .don't use it.

Cheers

Sounds good! Is there any side-effects with this update - I mean is it recommended to use it even if your system ain't "slow"?

Windows supports 24bit icons... not 32bit, but 24bit definitely yes. At least Win XP... have you seen the program MicroAngelo for Windows?
