It's not a MorphOS or version specific question,  but how good quake performs on a dial-up connection? Is it playable?

Well, I haven't seen it slow down with my 8500le. I can't view higher resolution than 1280 x 1024 with my TFT though. Normally QuakeWorld is limited to max 77fps.

Back the day 28k was enough for QW already, but the faster connection you have the better. Dial-up tends to have quite bad latency issues (== high ping), however.

@piru
 Ok then. I have an ultra fast 56k connection :-P so it should be ok.

 To all the dialupers here: I suggest you to play with the MTU setting of your TCP/IP stack. The document of Miami says that it has very little influence on your connection but i have found out that this is not true. Try values from 0 (auto) to 1500.

I can remember playing Quake on my A4000 with dialup...it is not a fun thing to watch someone run up to you, run around you, then shoot you in the face (while you know that they are laughing on the other end).  Some of those Quake players are so good that they are impossible to beat on DSL...Dial-up is no good exept to get the bits blasted out of you.

Too bad
