Register Your PPC Card...
« on: January 15, 2006, 01:50:22 AM »
It is not exactly known how many PowerUP Dual Processor and Graphic Boards were made. phase 5 spoke about 10.000 cards that were build but it is unknown how many cards were made by DCE. With this registration we want to get more precise numbers and break it down in each models based on their serial number.

Our call is aimed to every user of a PowerUP Dual Processor and Graphic Board to submit us his model and serial number with the following forms.

Well, for the CPU board itself, the program 'WhichAmiga' will report the serial number.

For the BV-PPC/CV-PPC, well, just do it whenever you open your Amiga for some other reason.

I'd like to point out that the Phase 5 number is made up and is likely 4 or 5x bigger then the actual number sold which has nothing to do with how many are still running now.

Could I recommend to the organisers of this that they mention that the serial can be obtained from WhichAmiga? There was no way I was going to open my machines up just for this, even though I think it's a great idea, but running a bit of software is no problem at all!

EDIT: err, it does mention it. Is that new? I didn't notice it last time :-)

If you still have the Original boxes, you should find the serial stickers on them too (at least the phase5 ones).
