Scandoubler/Flicker Fixer Available Now!
« on: January 09, 2006, 08:20:49 PM »
After a long much-awaited delay, we are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Amiga external Scandoublers/Flickerfixers

The device allows any Classic Amiga to connect to and use a standard PC (SVGA) Monitor.

Screenmodes are either frequency doubled or simply passed through to the monitor.  What is more, NTSC and PAL Interlace modes are stabilised - so no more annoying flicker!

Is it 24bit or 16bit (in other words, will it show AGA properly? Couldn't find any information on the site concerning that very matter...)?

i thing that it is an 1:1 process. you take back what you gave and probebly it is 24bit but that has no sence in the amiga rgb out.

I hope you are right, because 24bit SD's / FF's for the Amiga are really a rare sight. I can only come to think of the Picasso IV one right now...

Any chance this will work on a C128(RGBi), 80 column?

I don't think this is the place to discuss that but I think it will work for the C128 RGBI output.

All you have to do is use resistors to get the right analogue level from each RGBI combination.

Now I'm not a real electronics guru but you basically have two bits per channel. So with 2 resitors (per channel) you could build yourself a DAC and feed that signal to the scandoubler.

Perhaps somebody more able could work this out for you.

Erno

Sure it is, the C128 is the Amiga's uncle. Repect your elders! ;-) But seriously, Wayne and co here are open minded.

Resistors :-? I'll look into this, probably ask on c.s.c. At this time there is no good converter for the 128 RBGi.

My scandoubler came today from Vesalia, but I missed the postman.  Now I have to wait 13 hours to get it in the morning :bigcry:

How is the video output? I received my Toastscan external Scandoubler / Flickerfixer from Software Hut, and it's image quality is absolute {bleep}. :pissed:

Oddly enough the pic used for the Indivision is EXACTLY what the Toastscan Scandoubler / Flickerfixer looks like. Hmmm...  :-o

Um, that is actually the correct price for an external scandoubler / flicker fixer. Hell, even internal ones.
