To think I used to code that sucker in assembly using the built-in machine language monitor...

Lord knows I've forgotten more things than most will ever know...

Ah, has it really been that long?

Time does fly when one is having fun... I still own a C128D btw and it still works. I love it!

Best 8-Bit ever created (with the possible exception of the C64 8-) )

yeah, I still got my 'D'.
I had written an 80 column mode drawing program that used assembly routines to draw the graphics.

I had a series of pokes that turned it into 80x50 but sharp, not fuzzy.  Settings were specific to what monitor you use.  I have (still do) a Magnavox that was 128 compatible, it has a composite cable and the RGB TTL cable.

Ah the memories...

It was a great time indeed. I grew up with a C64. Wrote many programs and made various hardware hacks for it. Now I have in storage 2 C64, 1 C64 motherboard, 1 C128, 4 1541, 1 1541-II, 1 1581, 4 commodore monitors (1084,1084DS, 1080, and another), and the ultimate collector system 1 functional C65 :-D. I keep thinking of getting one of those mmc64 cartridges where I can put my d64 images on one of those multimedia cards and play them on a real C64 instead of using an emulator. Just my wife feels I should grow up and sell them off.

Me too, bought it the first week it came out.
(Didn't know about Amiga at the time)
I had given my C64 and 1541 drive to my brother,
and I couldn't afford another 1571 right away.
So I took the 128 home, started coding in machine
(using the new banks, cool) and left it turned
on for the next 6 weeks until I could afford the
drive to backup my data. Those were fun days :-)
Still have that code around here some where in
a disk box. I'm waiting for the DVD version of the
video now.

No way, just keep a neat tidy place for them and
she'll ignore them hopefully like my wife does.
Just don't tell mine about the Space Invader cabinet
I just hauled in the garage to repair

I actually had my 128D through college from 89-92.  I used it and a serial cable that connected to the school's mainframes via a serial connection that was in every dorm room.  It was 9600 baud and I was on the internet before the 'World Wide Web' via the school system.

Many a good looking girl would spend time in my room typing papers...ah the good old days...

A "AAA" Amiga motherboard! ARRRGGGHHHH!!!

I was going to buy one of those Amigas. Makes me wonder how the computing world would be today if Amiga had made it. If the AAA Amiga actually made it out the door and the same with it's successors.

Oh well. Such a shame.
