Club Amiga T-shirts Shipped
« on: January 19, 2005, 02:58:26 PM »
As seen on Amiga.com

"(17-Jan-2005) Amiga is happy to announce that the long awaited Club Amiga t-shirts have shipped and should be arriving as you read this message. Garry Hare, CEO of KMOS and Amiga, said, "It's about time, isn't it?"

Prior to shipping, Amiga Inc. constructed as accurate a mailing list as possible.

Happy New Year - The Amiga Team"

Which means I'll never receive my T-Shirt since I moved YEARS ago and haven't updated my Amiga Inc. website account since.

Or blame the images on TV?

Who's fault?  Amiga Inc., who was supposed to send them long before I moved.  Ya know, they did have a legal obligation to fulfill this within a certain period of time.  The fact that they are shipping now is just good will on the part of the new owner and it doesn't hurt that they will get a lot of free advertising out of it.

It's a grey t-shirt with "Amiga" on it, I know you paid a lot of money, but face it, it's really not that big a deal. I'd worry more about getting the coupon.

@ jdiffend

I feel bad for you, but they did announce a few months ago that the shirts would be shipped and that everyone should make sure their address was still accurate.

Did you leave a forwarding address at your old residence? Perhaps it will reach you eventually.

My T-Shirt arrived this morning.  It's like a tent!

I like the design though, and the shirt itself is of good quality.  It will sit in my wardrobe next to my MorphOS T-Shirt (which was free and didn't take 2 and a half years to arrive) until such time as I find an occasion to wear it.

Let's hope my $50 coupon is next to arrive.

@ jdiffend
Maybe you could call (or visit, if it's not too far away) your old place and ask the current residents if they have had any mail delivered in your name?

I too have moved at least 3 times since the promotion, and changed email address numerous times.  It was just by chance that I saw a news item on the forums that Amiga had asked people to update their details, otherwise I'd be in the same position as you.

I did file a change of address.  Visiting the old resedence is out of the question though... it's a gated community.

I never saw their message about t-shirts... I don't read messages here very often anymore.  Given the state of Amiga Inc I figured they were pretty much dead.

Amiga did infact ask people to update their accounts.

I would say this is not their fault.

I got my T-Shirt and I'm quite pleased with it actually! It has quite a nice design and it seems to be of a fairly good quality.

If I was 7ft2 and had shoulders like a Romulan off Star Trek then I might be tempted to wear it, but unfortunately I'm only 5ft7 and of a small build so unless I'm going camping in the summer I don't think I'll find much use for it in that respect.

I'm thinking of framing mine inside a piece of perspex and then sticking it on the wall as a poster or something.

It was free to you.

The Morphos developers and others may argue whether it was ACTUALLY free or not.

Is anyone going to post a pic of this elusive beast for us non-clubies to see?
