« on: September 23, 2004, 05:39:27 PM »
TAMPERE, FINLAND - September 23st, 2004 - Why guess, listen to rumours, compare months old public releases and continue speculating online? Why not participate in a friendly duel and come see the state of the art for yourself! Finnish Amiga Users Group is pleased to demonstrate the best of both worlds at its annual meeting this coming Saturday: AmigaOne running a new AmigaOS 4.0 beta and Pegasos II running MorphOS 1.5 beta.

Encouraged by the recent technological advances within the extended Amiga community, the Finnish Amiga Users Group is once again excited to showcase the latest progress. Colour blind since its inception, the Finnish Amiga Users Group welcomes everyone - and attendance is free as usual. The time and place to be: 14 o'clock, Saturday 25.09.2004, Opetusravintola Eetvartin Kellarikabinetti, Sumeliuksenkatu 16, Tampere, Finland.

Also attending is Finnish Amiga retailer Gentle Eye Ky. Welcome!

Some head to head tests would be great to see. Just make sure you run apps on both as well to see which is more compatable. ect.

Dancing Bananas promote happiness and don't cotton to trouble, especially not whole messes of it. :-)

Whoever designed the dancing banana has got to answer for crimes against the Internet community.

Ok, that was the event. It was very nice to get an eyeful of the latest developments in both operating systems, and meet a lot of fellow amigas (~50 attendees, I reckon).

For some discussion and pictures of the event (not mine), see this thread at ann.lu.

Be aware mr Gates, Amigas are baaaaaack !!!   :-P

(the spirit of the meeting reflected to my avatar) ;-)

It seems that (at least some of) the core OS developers can respect the work that the "competitor" has done. They even encourage people to be cross-platform, to get the SW running on the other OS as well. Tells something about the self confidence as well.

I'm happy about the state of things.  :-)
(not meaning that there isn't place for improvements, but still)
