Sunny prices at IOSPIRIT!
« on: May 18, 2004, 08:21:09 PM »
It's sunny and warm - it is the time where people are refuelling their energy

.. and it's the time where IOSPIRIT is again lowering the prices.

Available at heavily reduced prices are fxPAINT, fxSCAN, VHI Studio and the IOSPIRIT Graphics Megabundle (contains the latest full versions of fxPAINT, fxSCAN, VHI Studio).

Opportunity is good ..

I already own registered copies of all your software except for FXScan, which unfortunately does not support my HP Scanner.

I was saddened by the news that development on new software was to be frozen, as generally the quality of software from your software is excellent and I was looking forward to further developments.

I hope that the release of OS4 will tempt development back

Brian

I tried to buy fxPaint, but I can't because of the way the site is configured to use a non-standard port for HTTPS (the proxy here doesn't allow it). I'll try again when I'm at home.

I was tempted, but then I thought- do I want to spend money on a product that isn't going anywhere, and probably won't recieve much support? Or are they considering continuing with it if they recieve enough support? Seems an odd time to quit development just before a major OS launch....

You're on the right track with your last question. Why should there be further development, if there seems no demand for the products developed? Show us your support and we'll show you ours. Hesitate to buy anything, keep your dollars and you'll drive away all people still working full-time for the platform. Easy equation :)

.. haven't we been "just before a major OS launch" for .. hmm .. the last 10 years or so? Besides, development was suspended, not quit.

The software currently on offer at IOSpirit are "full products".  What that means is, they are complete software products which are able to stand on their own two feet in their own right.  Just because development is currently frozen, it doesn't make those products any less useful, and infact my experience of IOSpirit's software is that they are of excellent quality - I've been completely satisfied with all my purchases, and will continue to use the software regardless of whether development is continued or not.  Hopefully all my IOSpirit software will work with OS4, too.

Also, since IOSpirit has only frozen new developments; in other words they haven't left the Amiga platform and are still operating, you still get support for their products.

I am dissapointed that development is currently frozen, but that's mainly because I'm so satisfied with what I've seen from IOSpirit so far - I'd love to see them develop further and continue to release new software.  It'd be a shame if development was to remain frozen forever, but again that doesn't make my copy of FXPaint2 (for example) any less capable does it? I can still use it!

My advice is, if you're interested enough in IOSpirit's software that you'd be willing to pay for it, then definately buy it - you wont be dissapointed with the quality of the software.  In so doing, you're supporting the developers and, hopefully, once OS4 is properly released we'll start to see more developments from IOSpirit again.
