Now that's an alright price, if only it was the same for the A1. I still refuse to pay the extortionate price they're charging for those boards, and I've got access to OS4Beta

Maybe when they've released that small A1 or when they've got a few sales under their belt

Why only USB 1.1? With most peripherals (mice, keyboards, pensticks, printers, cameras, hard drives, etc.) being USB 2.0, this will be a major disadvantage for the boards. Otherwise, the spec is fairly impressive. I'm almost tempted! :-)

USB 1.1 is what the VIA southbridge provides, USB 2.0 peripherals will still work, or you can add a USB 2.0 PCI card and ArakAttack drivers if you need the additional speed.

:-D Okay, so maybe mice and keyboards aren't an issue, but it would certainly affect USB pendrives, harddrives, and digital cameras.

Christ, I can't believe how over priced these boards are. And they seem so out of date, I remember when 'amiga' meant reasonable prices for cutting edge tech. I don't mind paying over the odds, but USB 1.1?

Christ, and I used to remember a time when people actually bought hardware on what it could do for them, rather than just look at semi-irrelevant numbers...

I know the PC industry likes to abuse the USB for just about everything: hard drives, modems, scanners, etc, but what it was designed for was low bandwidth devices, and that's ALL. USB 1.1 might be a negative point for the Pegasos but it is one of the few parts of the actual board that don't reach minimum expected specs for this day and age. And if anyone finds the bandwidth of 1.1 lacking, then perhaos they shouldn't be using the USB for whatever they're doing at all.

Abuse? USB was always intended to be a universal form of connection for all sorts of devices, hence USB = Universal Serial Bus, ie. for universal applications!

Errr... no it wasn't.

480Mbps is hardly low bandwidth!

Besides, the USB 2.0 standard has been around since April 2000, so there is no excuse for these boards not supporting it.

USB 1.1 = 12Mbps
USB 2.0 = 480Mbps

So evidently USB 1.1 is lacking, which is why I use/prefer USB 2.0.

Hey guys, don't forget that USB 2.0 applies to 12Mbps devides as well.  Pretty much USB 1.x was renamed to 2.0 low-speed with the new 2.0 being USB 2.0 high-speed.

So if it makes you feel better, call the Pegasos a USB 2.0 low-speed, ok?
