UAE on Gamecube?
« on: April 05, 2004, 05:47:43 PM »
Will we see UAE on the Gamecube? looks like a possibility, there is an article on LinuxDevCenter.com about Linux on the gamecube and how fast they are progressing with their work on it, when asked what its like to program one of the coders says its a very nice system and it reminds him of programming a C64 or Amiga, when asked what he would like to see running on it when linux is complete he states UAE, take a look...

Very intersting article.  I always wondered mhy i love nintendo's so much comapred to other console platforms, and now I know.  They are well designed systems, utilising every bit of hardware and getting {bleep} hot performance out of pretty low spec hardware(sound familiar)

Or the Amiga emulator UAE, so that the GameCube would finally be the PowerPC-based Amiga the world has been waiting for.

I guess he has never heard of the AmigaOne or Pegasos then?

You can already play UAE on the PS2 and Xbox.  About time Nintendo gets into the action.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Well.. AROS could be ported over... if Linux already was... it would make more sense and would be a lot cooler... or at least an amithlon kind of aproach

PS2 Linux.  If you're really interested Sony is blowing the Linux kits out for $99 (USD) now.  It's a great deal since it comes with a network adapter ($40 alone), 40GB HD ($40 value??), USB keyboard and mouse ($20-30), VGA cable, and the PS2 Linux disk.  Of course, you can use the HD, keyboard and mouse in your PC if you want.  :)

The person that ported UAE to it posted screens and details at the English Amiga Board (eab.abime.net) a few months back.

Check out www.playstation.com for details.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(
