Nah, I still cling onto the hope that this is just a wind up.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like it (more than 24 hours have passed since the news was posted).  amiga.org has been regular viewing for me since 1998 (or thereabouts).  I understand the reasons for the sale but it will be sad to see it go. :furious: :bigcry:

But i dont see a need for it to go, why not form a team and gather donations to create a www.planetamiga.org or something? And with Wayne`s approval transfer the contents here to the new site?  :-?

No need to make 3000 members homeless.

Most of the members are also members on aw.net or some other Amiga forum, so I don't think it would be making virtually anyone homeless.

The historic data should be saved at least.  It would be a shame to lose the history.

As april the 1st is over, you can only assume now that this is actually happening..  :-(

I must say it was really lame that it was announced on april the 1st, could have waited one day..

I really believed this was a hoax, but now i am not so sure anymore.

Based on posts from Wayne at AW.net I would say it's real.   :-(

I was rather excited by the prospect of having a new "Amiga" related forum to play in... namely aros-exec.org, but the loss of Amiga.org is very upsetting.

At least we, as a community, had some good times. I hope to see all my favourite posters on other forums.

:-o  :-?  :-(
Good luck Wayne  :pint:

I didn't really belong to any of the other Amiga forums (other than lurking) so this seems so final.

Oh well, of to the AROS forums I guess.

Well...i dont know what to think at this moment...
This "Alekandra" Manuela Maricruz...(and i say "Alekandra", because such a name doesnt exist in spanish, it is Alejandra.
Her mail is full of wrong spanish. I mean, it has no sense the way she writes. For sure, the person who wrote that is not a native spanish tongue person. Othwerwise, why to write it in spanish, when this site is in english? Who will be understanding this besides me? Only people from Mexico, Spain and other spanish countries.
But again, it is so badly written...
I still cant believe its true...all of this...Please please..let it be a very bad joke, i want to awake tomorrow and see things "normally"...
