Ask Fleecy mirror online
« on: March 17, 2004, 05:42:22 PM »
Jim Farley, of Anachronism Industries, has made available the Ask Fleecy question and answer section from AmigaWorld.net.

"Due to many requests I have put up a temporary Ask Fleecy Mirror Page.  This will stay online for the duration of Amigaworld.net's administrative problems."

I don't really follow the Next Gen Amiga stuff, as I see Amiga purely as a retro platform, and I don't place myself in any camp - I can't see myself buying a Pegasos or A1 (unless the A1LITE is reasonably priced). But the name 'Fleecy' conjures up all kinds of silly ideas.

"Come here Fleecy, I found the velcro gloves!"
I like Amigas

I particularly liked:-

Quote
Amiga Inc is fully committed to the development and expansion of AmigaOS way beyond AmigaOS4.0. Detailed planning and design for AmigaOS4.1 is already underway alongside the parallel path of AG2. AG2 technology will be rolled into the AmigaOS4 release family as and when it is ready but the two will not be dependent on each other - in other words potential delays in one will not affect the other. Contrary to the occasional speculation that Amiga doesn't care or has no plans for the AmigaOS, that product line is and always has been vital to our future success.

Written 4 days after Amiga Inc had sold AmigaOS to Itec... :-)

Is this done just to piss off people?? Suddently the blue trolls shows interest of the ask fleecy, after bashing it for ages... I remember ask fleecy was so little important, that it was removed from A.org's news section, but now it is suddently important enough to mirror? sigh

I have nothing to do with Amiga.org policy since 1 almost year ago. This started as my own curiosity project, and I got alot of inquiries for me to share it.

I really don't get your angle :-?

In light of recent events, this Q&A has taken on a whole new meaning.
I'm sorry if you can't see the irony in them.

I just got word that the Ask Fleecy section is ONLINE again at Amigaworld.net.

I will probably be taking down the mirror shortly, as it's no longer needed:-)

You should give copies to Wayne, as he is/was compiling a history wasn't he?

I forgot about that. I'll ask Wayne, if he wants them no problem. They probably need a little cleaning up.

-Edit-
The mirror is now closed.

Jim,

Please do.  Now that they are no longer relevant and serve little purpose, aside from a reminder of the words and promises of the past, I will gladly add them, time permitting, to the Historically Speaking column of the Soapbox.

I currently have a backlog of about 600 items that need to be posted -- unfortunately one at a time to the soapbox, then appropriately dated.  These items date all the way back to early 1994, so it will take some time, but I need to have them on hand for the "when we get around to it".

Wayne

In addition to the 'Nothing to Say' section proposed recently, maybe a 'Nothing but Hot Air' one would be an appropriate location for stuff like this?

Cheers,

JaX

Yes Amiga Inc. is very bad

so GENESI is better,

he SAID:

Genesi announced this morning that the US Federal Court in Washington State had found in favor of its request for judgment against Amiga Inc. The Court's decision grants full relief to Genesi, including source code access to the licensed Amiga operating system and the full use of the Amiga trademarks.

Whether or not Genesi incorporates any of these features long term into MorphOS or any other of it strategic plans will now be the subject of investigation. Genesi will have full descretion to execute the license agreement unilaterally and is now free to pursue damages against Amiga Inc.

"The Court's decision grants full relief to Genesi, including source code access to the licensed Amiga operating system and the full use of the Amiga trademarks."

GENESI BULLSHITS
