yep... XP does indeed suck... I just got a "new" box yesterday.... PII 450(512k), 128mb ram... Installed NT4.0 on it, and it flied on it even compared to a modern ahtlon/p4 running winXP or win2k! Indeed the best OS that microsoft released... too bad they discontinued it  :-(

And btw.. after installing everything, it used only 28MB ram... pretty good to be windows..  :-D

This is a post from the first log-on on my newly re-installed XP-machine.

It flies like a dream, it's booting in less than 30 seconds, and after a couple of years the HW-manufacturers have finally released proper drivers.

At the moment The system is eating about 100 megs of RAM, but that is with 4765453587 unneccesary services activated, and my antivirus program running.
Beating the dead horse since 2002.
