Wow, that was quick Ryu! Thanks for putting an interesting report together. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Newcastle ( nice pics of The Angel :-) )

I found it very useful to watch Jurassic Camper and Sicky's AmigaOnes and see the wonderful things that can be achieved with OS4 - it's given me something to aim for :-)

While I normally drink urine, I unfortunately went before I left home and couldn't fill a glass, so I had to go with some cheap lager.  I'll do better next time.

I notice a PC running Windows in there, picture 18 at least. Genesi doesn't use Windows computers at their events, like that one in Washington DC a few months ago. BBRV does have a Mac laptop though.

It doesn't look like there were 50 people there from the pictures. Despite the crude joke you made about smithy, who is anything but a MorphOS troll, I hope Pegasos users were welcomed. When you do these events you build the attendance by being inclusive, not exclusive.

Since Genesi's victory in the courts last week entitles them to use the Amiga trademarks under some circumstances it may be time to take a closer look at whether Hyperion and Eyetech may also continue using them. Might have to call next year's event the Hyperion OS1 demo. ;)

He also told us he was very pleased with the number of early bird systems sold, and he estimates 1000 have been sold

Funny, I was assured more A1s were sold than Pegasos motherboards?

But thanks for the report, Ryu.

I think smithy is quite proud of being our 'friendly blue troll' ;-) We are both members of the North East Amiga User Group (7.30pm on the last Tuesday of every month, Newcastle Arms) and welcome anybody with an interest in the Amiga - past, present or future.

smithy has a Pegasos and was going to bring it to the show, but it only arrived recently and he wasn't able to get it ready in time.

If you read the report then you'd see that was actually a pre-production MicroA1 running Linux - according to rhino on AW.net it was configured to display a remote XP box, as a demonstration of a possible use.

Maybe, but maybe it would be nice if certain moderators met a higher standard.

To clarify my comment, which was not a troll, I personally don't care what Hyperion calls their work (which I hope goes positively). But any language in the competing contracts that are out there in their with regard to exclusivity in the use of the Amiga trademarks genuinely needs to be examined in the light of the court's decision.

@Red Melons

Ah, okay then. That's good that MorphOS users are welcomed. It wasn't exactly my brand of humor in the article. From this side of the pond there's an undercurrent from some people who would in fact cut  out certain users for their choice of Amiga-like OS, but we just ignore them. It's all in the game.

can I just say my reports have nothing to do with amiga.org, the report site is in no way affiliated with amiga.org and the fact that I am a moderator here has no bearing on my reports.

If you dont like my reports, dont read them. But im sure others out there do appreciate the effort I put in and the light humor, just a pity certain users out there dont, but thats just tough for them.

@Velcro_SP

Thank you for once again reminding me to never buy a Pegasos.
