MIDI/Audio: New HD-Rec Beta Demo Version for download
« on: December 22, 2003, 01:49:01 AM »
A new Beta Demo Version of "HD-Rec" is available for download.

HD-Rec is a MIDI and Audio Sequencer, that means audio and MIDI recordings
can be arranged within the same timeline window and played back synchroneously.

HD-Rec is a system freindly 68K application und uses no custom chips, and
runs well under Classic Amiga, WinUAE and Amithlon. Under MOS there seem
to be still some problems, bugreports would be helpful.

Special new features of V0.9Beta:
- Audio Mixer with 16+1+1 True-Stereo Channels und 4 Aux Sends
- Realtime Audio Effects (Reverb, Delay, Chorus, Equalizer, ...)
- Improved Softsynth "Sweeper" (Resonanz-Filter, Samples)

The final goal of HD-Rec is to handle a complete music production from
composing up to mastering within a single application.

Using the softsynth "Sweeper" and the audio effects of HD-Rec, there are
no external synthesizers or effect units necessary. The music signal
never leaves the computer at any time and can be exported directly as
.wav or .mp3. The quality is always excellent and independent from the
soundcard.
HD-Rec is the only program on Amiga that can do a complete music production
and mixdown with notation and audio recordings in studio quality without any external
hardware or additional software.

This project looks really nice. Is there going to be a PPC version of it in the future?. There is pro station audio for MorphOS and audio evalution for OS4., Is this program going to run on both?

Sorry about all the questions. I just want to have a modern "Amiga" audio workstation.

I'll test it tomorrow with winuae and my real amiga. I torture sounds with pc softwares...but i can always record them with amiga softwares :). Anyway HD-rec screenshots are attractive, even for DP and SX users !

The main program will stay 68K.
Why ?
Because it will run on Classic Amiga,
WinUAE, Amithlon, MOS and AmigaOS4.

Most time critical rouines are optimized for
JIT, so there would be not a very great speed
improvement if it was native.
Most CPU demanding are the audio effects.
If I will ever own a PPC I will make the audio
effects PPC native, but everyone else could do
this as well, because they are simple OS libraries and can be replaced just by copying some files. If someone is interessted just write me an email, and you will get the sources.

Hi

a really great app! . . .pity that requires a 060 at least (like other Amiga NLE audio professional apps) :-(

i've already tested the previous 0.8f beta and on a 040, unfortunately is quite unuseable.

Ciao
