Very nice! Looks a bit like KDE, but has enough nice touches to make it obvious you're looking at an Amiga setup.

Very nice... but can someone explain to me what you gain by having PNG format icons? I'm genuinely curious, not trolling! ;-) What are the advantages? Is it to do with the transparency? What happens tooltype info, and different 'selected' images?

Thanks...

PNG Icons have these advantages, at least:

* They're flexible and expandable. The PNG format can support lots of nice tricks.

* They can support up to 32 bit colour (24 bit with alpha channel).

* They are supported by other platforms, including Linux. Just pick up files from there, no conversion.

* They are proper chunky data and not hacked.

The native Amiga icon system can't do any of these things, and that's just things I can remember.

@Mr. Carlito
What program did you use to draw these icons?

What I would like to see was png being used like old amiga icons, wether by using animated PNGs (if PNG enables it) with 1rst frame being the released state and 2nd the click state, or a new kind of icon system based on png where like newicons could embebbed the two png images into the icon...

24bit icons look good, but as long as they have just one image which only turns color when they're clicked, they feel too much like someone's slowly trying to turn my Amiga into Windows. Especially with that awful "left-out" arrow on the first click. Blech

...just my opinion. :-)
I sold my Amiga for a small fortune, but a part of my soul went with it.

Hi Gav

you must install PowerIcons.

PowerIcons 1.05

Read the docs :-)

A little help for free . . . :

Copy PowerIcons in C:

Put this line in User-Startup: (or launch it from shell)

Run >NIL: C:PowerIcons SCROLLSPEEDUP

and enjoy :-)

Ciao

NOTE. use the SCROLLSPEEDUP option, only with PI 1.05.

I think that should be:

Run >NIL: C:PowerIcons >NIL: ScrollSpeedup

The 1.05 readme is ambiguous on this.

Cheers,
