OS4 on A1 Demo Photos and Report
« on: November 15, 2003, 11:22:23 AM »
Mick Sutton of SEAL demonstrated a development version of Amiga OS 4 running on his AmigaOne-XE G4 system at two UK usergroup meetings recently (ANT on Sunday the 9th and SEAL on Friday the 14th).

A report and photos from these demonstrations are now available on the SEAL website.

Was this the latest Beta with the updated icon system (for those not up to speed with the news, Icons now have independant palletes, which gives a better look and apparently speeds up window opening)?
I love the semi-transparent Amidock, it looks excellent.

Yup, looks nice.  I particularly liked the SnoopDos screenshot, since I wasn't sure how the Intuition changes would affect older software.  Verdict: sweet. :-)

I am still trying to understand if the new Intuition is largely just cosmetic (rolling MagicMenu and VisualPrefs into the library), or if it includes practical updates, too...like support for menus that go beyond our current heading -> level 1 -> level 2 system.  Also, I wonder if popup cycle gadgets (in both Gadtools and Reaction?) can now deal with more choices than will fit on the screen.  Anybody know?
