:roll:

Eidos won't release the sources. Have you seen the sources of Tomb Raider yet?

I'd much rather they release the source to Thief or Thief 2...  Daikatana, for better or worse is just another FPS.  Thief is the one game I can't play at night with the lights off (those zombies are WAY creepy!)  :-o

"Daikatana looks and plays like a game well past its sell-by date - the Quake II engine it is based on shouldn't be exposed to such rigours at its age. (...) Daikatana simply doesn't cut it." - 4 out of 10 in Edge Issue 86 (three years ago).

At gamerankings.com it managed to get a score of 51% from an average of 49 reviews.

I really doubt that Daikatana is like a good wine and only gets better with age. So I wouldn't really like to see Romano's failure on an Amiga. We deserve better.

Althought I think that the more games we have to choose, the better... I don't know anyone who liked that game. I guess I will be able to live without it :-D

There are games still unported like Hexen2 that I liked more...

Some research on daikatana on the net has revealed that it's quite possibly one of the worst games ever. It's even on somethingawful.com.

The idea is not to play some ancient game again, but rather to convince developers that there are no technical reasons why they can't write modern games.  For most people out there an amiga is an A500 with 1MB of RAM.  A port of Quake 3 is just a ludicrous idea.  However, if people can say "see, here's a port of and I can get 70FPS on my new Amiga", then someone will eventually release a new game and others will hopefully follow.

@CodeSmith:
Yeah, that's a good reason... I see your point. anyway we have Quake2, which engine should be pretty similar.

It would be nice that Hyperion released a native original game :-) firstly for AmigaOS a game that used the G4s and Radeons to the max... to show what our new hardware can do... it may be ported to mac and linuxppc too, some time after... and erm... windows

Couldn't you petition for a decent game like Unreal Tournament or something. :-D
