A1200 Questions
« on: October 07, 2003, 05:30:57 PM »
I just picked up an A1200......
I have a couple questions......
The internal floppy is bad..
What floppies interchange with A1200??
What about the PCMCIA ram cards.....
Are they all the same and what is the max ram??
And Harddrives.....
Will any IDE NoteBook HD work??

Any info here will help ( I'm ignorant about the A1200)

Other A1200 drives. Unfortunately, standard PC floppy drives don't work without a little bit of modification. If you're handy with a soldering iron, there are instructions on Aminet.

Too slow to bother with. The best thing to stick in the PCMCIA slot is a network card. It is better to add more RAM with a trapdoor expansion card of some sort, preferably with a faster processor.

Yeah, pretty much. If its just a basic Kickstart 3.0 machine, you're probably better off sticking to a 4Gb drive or less.
