MPlayer Released for MorphOS
« on: August 20, 2003, 05:37:34 PM »
There is a new Mplayer for Morphos.

"Well, it's not "new". It's the port of MPlayer (well-known Linux media player) for MorphOS. Nearly all the features of the original version have been ported like (S)VCD support, DVD..."

Check it out at Morphzone ...

Regards,
Targhan

@amigamad

I have something like that for the dreamcast. DCDivX :-P  I love it!  Convert the file to divx-5, run a script, burn a cd.  Instant self booting movie disc for the Sega DreamCast :-D

Targhan

MPlayer is incredible. It's very fast, totally rock solid stable, and packed with features and codecs. So far I haven't found any files it can't play. Whoever ported this great player so well to MOS is a genius. :-)

This is insanely good news for me! The one thing always lacking in -Amiga- related platforms was a good MPG player. I was thrilled when I threw a 720x480 8Mbit video at it and it played flawlessly. Even scaling the window on the fly worked perfect.

Now may I get greedy? How about a fancy GUI with playlist?  :-D

mplayer is the best player i´ve ever seen. stable and fast. it only hangs for some time, when choosing a file from the requester, which is corrupt (linux version).

Fancy GUI + Playlist == FroggerNG :-D  Remember Toad :-) I have been secretly adding features to Toad, and one of the planned features is, in fact, a PlayList.

MPlayer is very nice; however, without an ARexx port there isn't much that I, personally, can do for it.

Targhan
