SEMINAR PRESENTERS FOR AMIWEST!
« on: July 23, 2003, 04:09:20 PM »
AmiWest 2003 will host a variety of presenters for seminars, all on the show floor so that everyone can see and hear the presentations.  We will have a fine video projector set up and a good house microphone for audio.

These companies/people will be presenting:

Hyperion Entertainment presenting Amiga OS 4.  A Hyperion rep will be here from Europe to demo the new Amiga OS 4.

Genesi USA presenting Morph OS/Pegasos.  There is a lot to see here, too.

Individual Computers/C= One presenting a variety of hardware including the new C= One reconfigurable computer.

Nova Design presenting the newest and coolest for ImageFX.  Always a favorite, ImageFX is always innovating and creating.

DiscreetFX presenting their newest creations.

Mr. Hardware Computers presenting Amiga hardware including, we understand, the Amiga One.

Computer Connection presenting the latest from New Tek and other goodies.

John Harris presenting AmigaDE programming.

SEMINAR SCHEDULE TO BE POSTED AT THE SHOW!

It's going to be an exciting weekend with so many presenters and so much that's new to see.  The seminar schedule will be posted at the show, so be sure to check it out on Saturday morning!

Surely that wasn't a bias towards IFX, Kermit??  :-)

Seriously, though, I can't wait to hear what new stuff we're going to get... IFX5 PPC - the stuff dreams are made of!  :-D

Actually I've obtained very specific documents on everyone who has posted here and I'll be editorializing and discussing your school records. Specific attention will be focused on those with black marks on their permanent records.

You actually went to school? :roflmao:  :roflmao:

@Cecelia
You finished writing your masterpiece yet? 'Headmaster' Woodall will be most unhappy if you don't get your homework in on time. ;-)

@Chunder
You mean you haven't already upgraded to IFX5PPC?
 ;-)
Seriously, since IFX is as modular as a set of Lego, I'm sure that as soon as OS4 and OS4 documents available to developers outside of the OS4 team, people can start to get to work on compiling to PPC code.  That applies to anyone working on a OS4PPC native application. There's going to be behavioural differences with some of the new improvements available (ie memory handling, for instance), that are going to be of immense help to heavy hitting applications
Actually, have a look as to how many people were involved in the IFX4.5 effort, it's a l-o-n-g list. Kermit certainly must have had a bit of a hard time trying to control that bunch of ragamuffins.....

@Downix:

Relax, you'll do fine :-)

The secret is to concentrate on what you're saying and trying your best to forget about the crowd.  I usually try to unfocus my eyes when looking towards the audience, or focus a couple feet above their heads (darkened auditoriums rule  ;-) ).  As long as you don't squint or stare at the ceiling no-one will be the wiser.  This obviously doesn't work if you're a singer or an actor, but I find that for public speaking it works great.
