EBAY fraud alert!
« on: July 21, 2003, 12:23:40 PM »
Be very careful! This morning I received an official looking email from eBay requesting account information and claiming my account was suspended. Upon further investigation the sender was Ebay Security [ebay_autentification@yahoo.com] which obviously is NOT eBay.

Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

I got the Paypal message. :) It was so silly that it bordered on stupid. It asked for way to much stuff to even be believable, but I guess some will fall for it.
:-o...

Never Ever send out personall information via email. esp Credit Card or other payment information.

The guy who is doing this is committing fraud and ought to be reported to the Police.

Only use legit web sites for personal information, and only give information you feel comfortable with or dont. Its up to you.
