New Payback GBA Status Report
« on: July 16, 2003, 12:56:13 AM »
Submitted by e-mail:

"A new progress report on the GBA version of Payback has been posted here:

http://www.apex-designs.net/payback_gba_report8.html

This update talks about the performance and presentation improvements that have been made to the game over the last month, in particular the addition of a "bloom blur" effect and the dramatic optimisation of the audio mixer. It includes four new screenshots and a video clip of the game's improved pause mode."

Hi folks!

I still don't see why a gameboy news item should make it to an Amiga news site!? It makes no sense!

Anyway - I would like Payback to be updated so that it runs on MOS please.

Don't take this as the start of a zealot flamewar (EITHER side) its a simple truth I would like it to run on my system.  I would also like it to run on AOS4.0.

Why do I have the feeling the GBA port is much better than the amiga original ? 11 cities on GBA vs only 3 for amiga !! and we get it on a cd not on a cartridge so more cities could have been added. Okay musics took most of the place but whai is more important : music or gameplay ?
Still waiting for a faster update because on my A1200PPC+BVPPC it is damned slow on 640x480, and a tcp/ip version.

Uhm, creating cities take time? Time has passed since the release of the Amiga version, thus the creation of more cities has been possible?

My god, that was a useless rant, Lio ;-)

Anyway, I think we need a Gold version for the Amiga with more missions (preferably in new cities, of course) and fix a bug or two. High pri for fixing is still making cars look better when viewed from the side, if you ask me...

to Kees:

Whining? I take offense to your tone and sugestions!

When will people get it through their head that MOS is still an Amiga. Sure it might not be made BY Amiga, but then neither is Opus, ScalOS, AROS but they are still calssified Amiga.

MOS runs Amiga apps (with a bit of re-coding needed maybe, but that is no different that do an 040 and an 060 and a PPC version.

Anyway - as I said in my mail earlier - I am NOT starting a war here. Just stateing the simple truth that people (ME!) wants this on MOS and, when it's available, on OS4.0

Now if you call that whining then you need to go read a dictionary. And if this is an "AMIGA website" then as moderator stop putting GBA news on here.  But I guess I dont need to be told that your one of those that hates anything MOS/Pegasos. Me, I like both systems.

@ Bifford

Take alook at the main page now ..

1 news item about OAL/netscape
1 news item about M$ and Linux
1 News Item about the GBA (wich will run an Amiga game - Amiga related maybe?)

We post about the C-One and the revival of the Commodore wich is planned by Tulip and the "Paypal" scam warning, we post PPC news, we even post news about Mac's sometimes.

We post alot of stuff that has nothing to do with amiga because we (or the submitter) think its relevant .. and we're happy with everyone submitting Amiga or non amiga news.

Next to that ... i have nothing against the Pegasos/MorphOS .. and yes .. i do hope that OS4 see's the light very soon. If i was against Genesi i wouldn't accept the T-shirts i got from Bill and Raquel let alone wear them.

Oh ... and i didn't receive a mail i'm affraid ...

Have a nice day :-)
