UGN TO WEBCAST AT AMIWEST 2003

Yes, it's true!  UGN, in the person of Bill Borsari, will again be at AmiWest 2003 to work his webcasting magic!  At least, it seems like magic to me.

Bill has been with AmiWest since the beginning in 1998.  Ask him when you get to AmiWest about those beginnings.  It really is an engaging story.  Since the beginnings of AmiWest, Bill has been webcasting the events of the day and the atmosphere of the show floor to a world-wide
audience.

He brings a wide variety of equipment with him and sets it all up in record time.  Then, using the software he has written, he webcasts our show (both audio and video) to a world-wide audience waiting to hear and see what is going on at AmiWest.  Last year, he did web interviews with Alan Redhouse of Eyetech, and this year we have additional web interviews in store.  Check out the schedule as it changes at:  http://linux.tc3net.com/tekmage/ugn/
Come and see how he does it all at this year's AmiWest show!

We want to thank Bill Borsari for his support of the AmiWest show and, in particular, his webcasting of the show for us.  The UGN and Bill Borsari are examples of what the Amiga community is all about,
sharing what we know and have created for the benefit of all.

AND YOU CAN BE A PART OF IT ALL AT AMIWEST 2003!

While the webcast is certainly a technological triumph, being here is better.  Remember to go to www.sacc.org/amiwest and reserve your show
tickets now.  We expect attendance to be larger this year and certainly don't want YOU to miss it!

So remember, AmiWest 2003 is rolling!  The facility is reserved July 26 and 27, 2003 at the Holiday Inn Northeast in Sacramento California! New exhibitors are signing up regularly!  Keep watching for these releases and tell everyone that you know - the Amiga and the Amiga community is alive and well!  See you at AmiWest 2003!

Amiga Forever,

Brian Deneen, President
Sacramento Amiga Computer Club
for the AmiWest 2003 Committee

I wonder if they'll try to interview Ben Hermans again? That cell phone bill last time must have cost a fortune!!

I'm planning on having Alan Redhouse via phone and Ben Hermans phone or in person depending on where he is :)

As for the cost it was a few hundred for both AmigaExpo and AmiWest but hell it's worth it :)

Hey UGN!!

It's great to see you guys provide live info from the show!  But, I strongly recommend for your internet radio station an audio compressor.  This way we don't have to jump out of our seats whenever someone yells into the mic!  :-D Seriously!  http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=030712113312068020179055206592/g=home/search?q=COMPRESSOR&pn=100&px=200&d=tp - with a quick trick you can keep the volume at a constant level, don't have to go back to your mixer to keep readjusting the levels--this device can do that for you automatically!
A benefit for all of us  *nods head*

Good point, DanDude. And mic selection plays a part as well. A PZM plate boundary mic might be nice : } I know Radio Shack actually had a re-badged Crown condensor PZM at a killer price at one time for those who can't afford the pro models. Maybe they still do. Good for panel table discussions and forgiving as long as it's placed right.

I wonder if my 060 is fast enough to use Pro Station Audio to act as a live compressor?  I could move the webcam to my 040 A4k and use the A4K to filter the audio stream.  I'll work on it.
