AWeb APL 3.4.1 GCC released
« on: June 27, 2003, 06:20:48 PM »
The team from the open source AWeb web browser has released for the first time, a GCC version of AWeb APL. This is in "alpha" state, and is version 3.4.1. This release is primarily for testing only, or for the adventerous.

Here is what the team had to say:[/u]
Finally our build area is open. The first GCC based build is now available for 68k AmigaOS3.x. Please note that latest builds can be unstable and are meant for testing only.

You can downloading it by going to the AWeb APL website.

Also, please read the Note file for instructions on how to "install" this executable. :-)

GCC is an excellent move.  This will allow for compiling to PPC with minor changes if it's done right.  Thanks for all the efforts on this.  When I can learn more C/C++ I'll jump in and help when I have more free time.

@Framiga

Of course it'll be unstable on your system. As I stated in the news article, it's only in alpha state. Give it time, and it'll be stable. :-)

What exactly is that happens? On my test system based on UAE everything works just fine.

It wasn't meant to be released, indeed, it was just an internal build... Guess someone got things a bit wrong :)

i never said "unstable" i said " unuseable" and then unuseful :-)

INHO an internal alpha, must still "internal".

You can help them if you send them a more detailed report. What make it unusable? Is there any error? Even more, I'm sure they need betatesters...
