"I want to stop the rumours but I don't want to comment on them directly or commit to anything."

Hehe.

I smell damage control.

Of course, if Bill is no longer CEO/President by the time AmiWest comes around, he can't be held to account over this announcement, right?  :-P

IMHO, we still have an unanswered question regarding the now infamous business card, and I get the niggly feeling that both Bill and Fleecy have only been giving half-truthful reactions so far. They're not lying, but they're careful not to address the issue directly and completely either.

Would you buy a second-hand car from Msrs Buck, McEwen or Moss? I most certainly would not.

(Incidentally I, like Wayne, believe the business card to be genuine and therefore am of the opinion that its existence requires an explanation.)

WOW!  Amiga Inc has a new CEO.  That is two in one week.  First there was Garry Hare and now Bill McEwen :))  At this rate there maybe another 100 by the end of the year :)

Bravo, Amiga Inc. You've found a really rather neat way to assert the fact that Bill is still CEO without having to get yourselves involved in the pointless bickering happinging on some Amiga sites.

They didn't even consider the real issue: is that card a fake or not?

The fact thay didn't address that should say it all.

I like Bill a lot, I've known him for years, and I consider him a personal friend of mine....

sigh, someone just give me a tub of popcorn, I'll be over in the corner watching the rest of the play.

The CEO of Amiga Inc. will be attending AmiWest.

Which one of them?  :-P

BTW, I'm sure that Bill McEwen will go to the AmiWest show. After all he was at the CeBIT show this spring, releasing the AmigaOne+OS4 combo, wasn't he?
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

I think that could be said of all parties involved.

No!  Did you see how he signed his message?  The little fishies (  ><>  )  around his name?  Of course, this means that something fishy is going on, and it's a HINT of the CONSPRIACY among us RIGHT NOW!!!!1

Hey, let's say the card is real.  So what, who is the CEO now?  I do not know what happened.  Amiga Inc, just may have asked Garry to be the CEO.  Ya, that is possible.  Garry just may have been thinking about it.  Maybe, just maybe Garry changed his mind after talking to BBRV??  Just maybe, BBRV is only telling part of the story.  The timing is very interesting.  Just maybe Amiga Inc. has some thing to deal with, why would someone outside of Amiga Inc want to share that information?  The card is not the big deal, it is what people are doing and saying about it and why??

Oh, why do we suffer so much, for so little :))

Garry Hare did some *free* research and might have done some volunteer other stuff too and might have been using these cards to find new partners.

That's just a guess.

I also think Amiga Inc. found a great way to stay out of the bickering and really, really hope they don't say anything more about this.
Why should they respond about something whenever some silly rumour sticks it's head up.

Now I'll return the favour the Amiga supporters got the past couple of days; WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE.

O...wait... you're gonna done the same thing now as we do! Blind following.  :-)  :-)

They continually affirm that "Bill McEwan is
the CEO" of Amiga Inc, but none of them seem
to directly say that Garry Harre "is NOT" the
CEO of Amiga Inc...a very typical 'smoke'
response from these people though.

Anyhow who really cares....

You know what upsets/wonders me the most on this whole episode ?

That some people actually WANT McBill and fleecy to stay in charge .....
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

You're missing the point. BBRV claimed that the shareholders of Amiga Inc. had sacked Bill McEwan, that he was gone. How could this possibly be if he has the intention to attend AmiWest as the CEO of Amiga Inc. in three months? Authentic business card or not; that was obviously false information. The *real* question is; was this intentional or not? What is your excuse, mr Buck?
