It'd be nice to have the new slamtilt come home to the Amiga.  I think
the original might be available for free if you don't have it I know
21st Century made the other pinball games available for free.

Good to see Hyperion striving to bring more diverse gaming experiences
to us software starved paupers of the gaming world.

You mean more games are announced at this rate or what ??

Don't forget that all this has to be ported 1st, and don't
forget the typical time between an announcement and the
release on a Hyperion-project .....

(which is a problem they share with others in this "market").

Flames ahoi  :-P
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

Yeah, I will miss games like "Do you know Jesus":

"Do You Know Jesus is a fun and fast paced game
that entertains as it educates. With over 1500
questions covering both the Old and New
Testaments, your knowledge of the Word of God is
tested in new and challenging ways. Play with your
family and friends in a rapid fire game show mode,
or just play alone to gauge your command of God's
living word. Never has so much fun delivered so
much Kingdom value."

Smells of sarcasm. :P Do you have a problem with other people believing in Jesus?

what about the hardware?
« Reply #12 on: April 20, 2003, 09:55:02 AM »
Sorry to rain on your parade... with all the glee and hype about the joys of OS4... I can't help remembering that all the best games for Amiga didn't use Workbench at all.  You know- the ones that boot cold??  Without the operating system chewing up resources (efficient tho it was), old school games with no dos were generally the ones with the biggest "wow" factor. (speedball2, silkworm, r-type... and all the arcade ripoffs)

I'm coming from an A500/A2000 background, wb1.3 and 2.0 respectively...  so I dont know what improvements came with later releases (if any)... but could the A1 be used like that? say... boot from DVD or CD like a console?

just wondering...  the OS really wasn't the best thing about the amiga.

Aye, it could, BUT...

The AmigaOne isnt standard hardware like the A500, A1200 and the like. It doesnt have a built in graphics chipset, and doesnt necesarily(sp?) use the built in audio chipset. Games (and other software) are better off going through the OS instead of trying to support the thousands of audio, graphics and god knows what else chipsets themselves.
Cheers,

Olly
