;-) I like the end part where Mr. Hermans thanks everyone for their patience.  It's good to see that it's appreciated.  Yes, it's been a long ride, but hopefully we're nearly there.

It's nice to see someone finally say exactly what the hold ups have been about. Maybe I missed it before, but it seems no one, untill now, has said "We can't spend 100% of our time on this 'cause we still need to make a living..."

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn\'t enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

 - Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. :D -

The little larger is the very same one as it was back in november... Never the less, it was honest, and I do appreciate it. A bit less "on schedule and rocking" a bit more, "yes we have difficulties, but working on solutions". I think I'll buy OS4 for my BlizzPPC when available. To test all solutions.

Frankly, I was sick back in 2001 august-november from the lies. Just look around - one told the truth, and everyone understands it.

Dunno if anyone else observed it - it happens time to time that someone tells the truth, without tricks and the like, from [color=FF0000]all[/color]  sides. AInc is silent. I hope this indicates a dawn for a more open and honest treatment of the community.

I really do hope so.

I'm crossing fingers for Hyperion, but I'm far from optimistic. The integration of emulation is being worked on since months, but its not finished. May it be, it is just too big task for them ? I hope not. But it seems it is a real thorn in theirs eye, e.g a problematic thing.

Good interview.  Unlike some other players in the market, Ben has portrayed himself as a serious and credible business man. He has won over everyone's trust and it really does seem that a real life working AmigaOS4 is a matter of weeks away.

Even Amiga Inc are playing it smart by simply being silent.  It is far better to allow Hyperion to speak about OS4 and allow EyeTech to speak about the hardware because if Amiga Inc were to say something that was even slightly off (not intentionally mind you, but a mere msunderstanding) the community would immediately start to get critical and all parties would start losing credibility.  This way no one has to get their stories straight with anyone.

So overall I would say that Hyperion/EyeTech/AmigaInc have matured as companies over the past 15 months. I think this is a good sign.

Good interview. I like Ben and the others at Hyperion. It's funny.... For the most part, I think Bill McEwen and AI are full of shi!t, but I actually  *believe* in Ben and the guys at Hyperion. I also appreciate that they notice the limitations of the older architechture.  This display driver solution opens a TON of new doors for amiga. Now, if it only had proffesional sound card support. Still, I have just THAT much more fatih in this project. Oh well, here's seeing it when it comes out.

All could have been the direction a new AmigaOS could have taken.  We could have done a QNX based solution, with initially the os running in emulation but with native extensions.  Amithlon did the same thing with Linux, and many native extensions were developed.

MorphOS was/IS a powerpc solution and it shipped last year.

Amiga, Inc. chose Hyperion's solution, of the four choices Amiga had--they chose the one solution that didn't ship.  The other 3 shipped.

Thats not just an unlucky coincidence.  Hyperion didn't ship because its not their main business, they aren't particularly concerned when it ships, and they feel the market is captive.

If hyperion felt the pressure they would have shipped, or we would have a non-hyperion solution in place....one or the other.

At no time was this market really dependent on hyperion...and all this 'we're not worthy, we're not worth---mistreat us some more dear hyperion'---talk, its sad.

I've thought about it...yes I am glad they felt enough pressure to actually get down from their high horse long enough to speak....but thats not good enough.

If hyperion was the amiga community, I would be gone in a flash....luckily they are just one small part of a much bigger community, and I can still find creative people amongst those not waiting on hyperions sales pitch.

I don't think this is as simple as two 'sides', but if there were only two sides, I'd rather be with the side of 'creative individuals who produce', than on the side, of 'the patient who wait.'

MorphOS shiped as a Beta-version last year ... if you read some of the other posts, AmigaOS 4.0 also "shiped" last year (November)!

Now you might say that MorphOS was public last year ... but you could still only buy it with the Betatester board!

AmigaOS 4.0 has not been public, but it looks like it's out there - in Beta state.
