Ok, it was just a joke... (Sorry Thomas! ;) Technically the emulation is ready. Now we are working on the integration into the kernel. It is not a long period process, if everything is working as it planned. I cannot tell you more precise interval.

So I guess not everything worked as planned?
Hate figure. :lol:

Well.. I think that kernel integration was supposed to be done months ago (like last fall). So if it's still at works, they are definitely way late.

But, OTOH that's nothing new. Hopefully they have something demoeable on Cebit, as they are supposed to make some kind of launch (or wasi it relase?) there.

I wonder. If you were running this project
and it was going wrong and someone said
"AmigaOS4 is supposed to be launched at
Cebit and we won't make it" how far you would go?

* Buy a small boat, call it AmigaOS4 and give it its maiden voyage at CeBit.

* Claim you said lunch, bake a cake with AmigaOS4
logo and make sure you aren't sparing with the cucumber sandwiches.

* Hope everyone forgets. Naah, this is the Amiga community!

* Run it on Amithlon but have a fake monitor cable
that goes into an A1XE that is switched on, and another monitor cable that goes to your Dell laptop.

* Hire some scantily clad bikini girls and hope that the sex starved male technoids are so distracted that they don't notice and just bribe the female technoids.

* Panic.
Hate figure. :lol:

@DaveP

I like the world you live in.

But we know the drill, the last thing said is always the truth.  All they will do is either stay silent or give a new promise.

Personally, I want to see them do the thing with the boat that you mentioned.   of course, the boat will still be in dry dock, maybe it will be so incomplete as not to even resemble a boat, but they will launch it somehow, because they only said they would launch it, not that it was ready to sail.....

hehehe, but I do Amiga, Inc. and injustice, cause its only their rabid following that thinks there is a difference from launch and ship.....Amiga, Inc. knows they promised a March release date, and at this time they haven't pushed back the date.

So they are either planning to make that date or to not announce the delay.

But what they won't do, is go into some laughable byzantine explanation about how launch is not release.....

The amiga worshippers are really not lead by Amiga, as much as they would like to be....Amiga, Inc. has also not suggested that they cannot survive without the buying power and synergy of genesi behind them...but its another common myth thrown out by the faithful ('we must combine forces')....LOL

oh well, I'm really all over the map on this post....better get back to work....byeeeeee

So, erm... What was actually updated ? Certainly not the FAQ, IIRC that's still the same ?

FPU emulation seems to be fully done now. And one
demo has been added. Still not integrated into OS4
though.

julia_fpu (in PetuniaTests.lha) trashes memory.

Can we expect this from Petunia as well?

Well..  IMHO it's bit too long and had too much hopefull  filler and Spin .. But it's not a bad post from someone who's late and needs yet another 'two more weeks'.
