Make an Amiga version, and I'll buy it!

exclusive distribution agreement

tsk.. Can't you read?! (I am kidding!)

But that does mean that there won't be an Amiga version, at least not for a while

@amigamad

?????
Number of Pegasos + MOS : 200-400
Number of installed A1s (with OS4) : 0

Peg-Dev-Board with MOS-BETA available to epic: since late 01.

A1 with OS4-Beta: not available.

So how many A1 (OS4) copies of their SW could they sell ?
And more impotanly, how would they have developed it ?
(and no WOS on a classic doesn't count)
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

What I do find sad is that they don't seem to be making anything for the Amiga (WOS or potentially OS4). Not un-expected, but sad.

@jumpship

WOS is not an option (too buggy/too much work/too slow) and
epic hasn't seen anything real about OS4, so they just can't
say whon and how they can support it,

They must be nuts, even if 400 pegasos owners actually shell out that (much) money for the game, which is not very likely, i dont see where the economy in this are, wow a possibility of 400 sold units, damn the gaming industry is lucrative these days...

And the game looks like crap to me, would not buy it for any platform, especially at that price.

That hasn't stopped lots of other people producing games/programs for it. But I am no programmer! I bow to your knowledge  8-)

K&M has a heavy AI which would make it dead-slow on a classic,
so they are in the same position as Hyperion with the games
they claim to have allmost ready but can't release.

Also they might think in the same pattern as Hyperion, that
people shelling out $$$ for a PPC-mobo are more likely to pay
$$ for a game.

Most Amiga-games have sold in low 3-digit numbers for the
last year, and thats why most of them are just ports.

I have seen the game in Aachen, and while it is not uptodate
compared to current Win-games (suprise ) it is still looking
good and seems to have a descent gameplay.

Why is WarpOS buggy? (I have found it anything but - Coding & Using).

Knights and Merchants

Based on the screenshots, it looks like a remake of Settlers and Foundation.  Mmmm, Settlers.  Time to waste an evening on a good game.  Darn. ;-)

Ummm..... Then why the big deal over it's "exclusivness"???  If everything else is non existent, what is it exclusive for??? Genesi people are so desparate to sound like they are dominating the world...  Wake me up when something interesting happens.

Hi Herewegoagain, we are dominating this "world."  :-)  Seriously, when another native PPC OS is on the market e.p.i.c. will undoubtedly support it.  In the meanwhile, we are quite happy that they have decided to channel their efforts and skills to Pegasos and MorphOS users.  It is really a "chicken and egg" situation and the sooner we can get over that hurdle the faster the "installed base" number can grow and visa-versa.  You can fill a bucket one drop at a time!

Congratulations e.p.i.c and GTI!

Go Pegasos and MorphOS!

Sincerely,

R&B :-D

P.S. Thanks Kronos for the support.  Please check your email forwarded from kronos@amiga.org.  You have just become a game tester...let us know what you think!  ;-)

Herewegoagain : Genesi people are so desparate to sound like they are dominating the world...

Every Genesi person I've met has a pretty realistic appraisal of where they are in the larger world marketplace, and how much work it will take to progress to command even niche successes. Yet, they are proud of what has been done so far. Anything wrong with that?

If it was Amiga Inc or Hyperion for this particulaer PR piece would you be saying things like that? I hope not. They too deserve to enjoy local respect.  (Yeah, I know some people might not always play it that way, but that is THEIR problem.)

Wake me up when something interesting happens.

Maybe you should set your alarm. ; } ...An agreement today with Genesi doesn't mean there can't be a PR tomorrow for AOS4, in many cases. It should be trivial to support both platforms for the time being,..
