Mediator Multimedia CD UP 1.22

The Mediator Multimedia CD UP 1.21 update for users of Mediator PCI 3/4000T,  Mediator PCI 4000D, Mediator PCI 4000Di, Mediator PCI 4000, Mediator PCI 3000D,  Mediator PCI 1200 SX, Mediator PCI 1200 and Mediator PCI ZIV, who are registered owners of the Mediator Multimedia CD has been released today.

The update includes a new AHI driver:
ˇ fm801.audio

This driver handles Fortemedia FM801-based sound cards in all currently
produced Mediator busboards. It allows using all analogue and digital
(S/PDIF and TOS-Link) inputs and outputs provided in the user's
FM801-based sound card model.

The update includes the new versions of:
ˇ sb128.audio
ˇ mixer.library
ˇ tv.library
ˇ FastEthernet.device

Changes were made as follows:

sb128.audio driver ver. 4.8
- support for the Sound Blaster 4.1 Digital
  sound card added
- supports for the digital S/PDIF output added

mixer.library ver. 1.5
- support for new revisions (rev.3 and 4) of the CT5880 chipset added

tv.library ver. 1.14
- I2C software support added

FastEthernet.device ver. 1.8
- internal changes

Elbox is nearly religious in their software updates.  I'm glad that they provide so much support, since I have a Mediator myself.

don't get too happy since in this update they have publicly now stated that the Mediator 1200 has got serious hardware bugs, they are from now on only supporting the 1200SX (of the pure 1200 models).

expect that all 'in development' products will not work on the Mediator 1200 (also expect the ZIV version to get the shaft next).

some of the coming cards that will defintly not work on the Mediator 1200 is SharkPPC, SharkPPC+ , SB LiVE and MEPG-2 drivers.

Well as certain as one can be considering that
Elbox has lied to Mediator user's since they released the Mediator.

They claimed that the Mediator did not have the 'bugs' that the G-Rex excibited but apparently it does ... makes you wonder what else they have lied about.

There is probably a cause for concerning regarding their knowledge about hardware design.

Hmm... what about those MACH-chips? Shouldn´t it be possible to upgrade the Mediator by just replacing some of those chips?

I don't now if it is true.

In all cases my 1200 loves my Mediator. 060+Sb128+Voodoo+64Mb is  COOL amiga classic.

If i buy an AmigaONE, my 1200 will be next to it.
