Hmm this Win`98 laptop crashed when I clicked on the "enquirer" link. Can`t be bothered to read it now. It sounds like the MS devil is spreading its greasy hands further round the world again.

:-D
MS never learns it!
Programmers say that every 3rd version of any MS product is somehow usable. All versions before that are banana-ware (mature in users environment:-)).

I've never seen an MS product that worked correctly, especially none of their WINDOWS even XP (which stands for Xtended Problems) all of them have severe security problems! Or would you use WIN on security systems: machines at hospitals, nuclear submarines, nuclear power plants, Space Shuttle.... WIN crashes so often that people are used to and think that's a feature of Windows :-)

And now that this ORANGE PocketPC mobile crashes is typically for Windows.
1st it is not an ORANGE phone but that one stolen from SENDO.
2nd SENDO wasn't finished from developing this phone but MS had to sell something as the other mobile phone makers (Nokia, SonyEricsson, Siemens, Samsung....) all use the much better SYMBIAN OS, which is really ROCKSTABLE.
3rd tests of the new ORANGE phone showed that it's a beta product... many functions don't work as they should
4th as all Windows, the phone OS is slow too slow.

At the moment you can only buy this phone from ORANGE (UK/France) and it won't work with any other provider. Except if you do 1 of the following 2 possibilties:

A)
1) Backup the ORANGE phone to the PC (with the delivered software)
2) do a HARDWARE RESET on the phone
3) when asked to enter the PIN CODE: don't do just leave it for 10-15 minutes
4) REBOOT the phone and you can use any SIM card :-)

B) This method is more tricky, but you have to change the registry of PocketWIN. A step-by-step instruction can be found on UK news lists :-)

I don't understand why Amiga Inc. wants AmigaDE on this PocketPC phone? No one is selling it and no one is using it. Why not use SYMBIAN based phones which all can ran JAVA too? There's even AmigaDE for Symbian. 80% of all mobile phones that are sold now with MMS feature from all major companies use the Symbian OS or the NOKIA Series 60 OS which is the same OS, with just another GUI. :-?

If this were Slashdot, there would be about 50 THIS IS A DUPE!!! comments by now.

OTOH, Slashdot is as fond of anti-MS stories as Amiga.org. ;)
Maybe it\\\'s still possible to save AmigaOS  :rtfm:......
