RC5-72 Distributed.net Clients Released

The first RC5-72 (plus OGR) capable clients for AmigaOS (v2.9002-479) are now available from distributed.net's pre-release page.

The AmigaOS clients are the first to feature PowerPC and m68k hand-optimized versions of the RC5-72 cores, which offer a significent improvement on the ANSI cores.  This was part of the reason why clients for AmigaOS were not available until now - we hope the delay was worth the wait ...  Also, for the first time, the PowerUp client is now 100% compatible with MorphOS.

I should also have mentioned that those upgrading from an older version need to read the readme.1st file.  Specifically (although I'm sure people should know by now to flush their buffers before upgrading):

Backwards-compatibility advisories

* v2.9001.477+ (Dec 3, 2002)
Client version v2.9001.477 will be the minimum build from which RC5-72 results will be accepted. These versions also utilize a new buffer file format that is incompatible with earlier v2.8 clients. If you are upgrading your clients from an earlier version, be sure to first flush your completed buffers and then manually delete those buffers prior to starting the new v2.9 client. The minimum upstream proxyper version supported by v2.9 clients is build 330.
