IBrowse 2.3 in time for the New Year??

The IBrowse homepage has had a lick of paint and contains info about the eagerly awaited 2.3 release & the changes that have been made (click here for changes summary)

"Hello all of you! I thought I should break the silence just now before christmas. This fall has been an interesting one with lots of things going on. I originally planned the IB2.3 release about 1.5 months ago and decided to bring in some people from the mailing list to help us hard test the release candidate. Unfortunately (?) some of them took their job far too serious and told me that, no, you cannot release IBrowse in the state it was back then. Hm, back to the code again. Now 150 reported (and fixed) issues later I hope they are more pleased. We are currently about to begin testing of the very final release candidate and if everything goes as expected (and this time I am alot more confident you will see an updated IBrowse around New Years Eve. In the meantime, you can check out the summary of the history. Have a great Christmas everybody!

Good, but the last IBrowse isn't very powerful as Voyager.

It should have CSS support at least! If i think that the main browser in OS4 don't has CSS support..... oh my god.... :-(

If you say so ;-)  But, IBrowse 2.3 will be way better than 2.2.

CSS support will come in the next version (3.0) - it's too big a change for what is supposed to be a free incremental update.  As it is, IB 2.3 contains more changes than 2.1 and 2.2 put together, and that's not including the hundreds of JavaScript improvements.

I agree that we need a browser with CSS support, but we also need(ed) a browser with better JavaScript support, because IBrowse 2.2, AWeb and Voyager simply don't cut it in that area!

I talked to Stefan at the AmigaOne Event in Gothenburg, and IIRC he said that it will be a free update (just like 2.2).

IMHO, another small curse our small "community" has is that we have THREE under-developed competing Web Browsers.  The competition used to be good for the users, but now?  If we all paid one team, perhaps the pressure and money would by now have enabled a product with more up to date features?  Perhaps the post A1 Debut will improve the situation.  I DO like IBrowse, so go team go! :-)
