OctaMED Soundstudio development
« on: December 01, 2002, 11:26:41 AM »
Olaf Koebnik of Amiga Arena persuaded RBF Software (Ray Burt Frost) to continue the development of OctaMED SoundStudio for the Amiga. The sources are already in hands of the future developer. The development will possibly be started soon.

Olaf Koebnik needs your help: So, please send suggestions and bug-reports regarding the new version to the Amiga Arena (olaf.koebnik@online-club.de). Support the development of OctaMED Soundstudio!

Will there be an OS4 version?  ;-)  The more software we get for it the better.

This is #$%?ing great news!!!!

Honestly, if this gets ported natively to OS4, it may be the deciding factor for me to buy an A1...

COOL!

Even though I have the musical talent of a dead carrot, this is good news, most definatly. I agree we do need tons of new software. OS4 version rewrite would be nice!

It seems that we are indeed picking up some software support again, even prior to the release of AmigaOS4. I take this as a good sign. There's a chance the chicken and egg problem might be a lot smaller than one might have feared. :-)

What, a smaller chicken, a smaller egg or both ?
 ;-)

Seriously though, this is really good news. A lot of people cut their (musical) teeth with Octamed and it'd be great for many to see one of the all time favorites back in development.

Well, until today, I'd never heard of Olaf Koebnik, but if I ever meet him, I'll buy him beer. :pint:

OctaMED is the only reason I still use an Amiga and this is the best news I heard in ages! :-)

I'm f**king delighted!! :-P

Ditto. I still have mods on my PC that I mad with my old 500. I used to make 8 track mods with a stock 68000 500 with 1 MB of ram. I used to be a Tracker God with OctaMED v4 and v5. I bought the SS version for my PC, but it wasn't the same. It didn't feel right. There was something about it.....oh yeah, it wasn't running on an Amiga.

Hoya!

Well, THIS IS MY PERSONNAL OPINION, I think OctaMED is a bit bloated. I dont like all the windows being opened everywhere.
Anyway, it's a LEGENDARY piece of code for sure.

Just a question, apart from it and DigiBooster, can you give me another good tracker? I feel like making music again :-)

Thanks in advance.

"bloated" ? :-?
Compared to music software on other platforms, it's tiny!

> can you give me another good tracker?

Well I've never used it but 'Protracker' is supposed to be quite good.
