Merlancia Industries wote an open letter to the Amiga community about the rumours of closement. Apperetly they are moving their office to Phoenix U.S. and are in no way going out of business.

Read more about it here.

Hmmmm.
I've heard an awful lot of rumors about Merlancia, but I hadn't heard that they were closing til this disclaimer came through.   Hmmmmmmm.

Think it's true, then? :-?  :-P

Sounds oddly familar to what people had been saying about Amiga, Inc and what Amiga, Inc. has said in responce.

Maybe Merlancia and AI will be sharing the same building!  That's why they're both moving at the same time!  And the phones!  Hey, I've figured it out!!

Strange...I didn't know Merlancia was really even real; I could never get anyone to answer the phone or return my e-mails a few months back when I was looking for some expensive hardware... :-)
Maybe they meant 'Clothesment', in which case I'll be first in line for those Amiga sock-garters!!!

Its real alright, though I`am yet to have the cash to spend with them. I wish them good luck and
hope that their gamble pays off. We need as many developers as we can get our hands on. I hope they
do have the cash to get a UK HQ too. That means that they are really in the money. Especially if its
in London. I doubt they will go there though. The prices are INSANE! :-D
