Frogger 2.04 released
« on: October 16, 2002, 02:36:28 PM »
From Frogger homepage:
No new features, sadly (except Vorbis decoder for 68k), but on the other hand, this version fixes lots of bugs and contains improved/optimized mpeg video decoder (much faster, and with much better frame skipping).

Cool!

How about providing some easy to access information about frogger? (Both when posting updates here and on your web page) Things like what codecs it supports, if it has a GUI and so on. For the unitiated a news post like this may not actually get them interrested.

Look at the HauppaugeIR and TTEngine.library news items. Those item tells the reader exactly what (s)he is looking at without forcing them to dig any further to get information.

(Don't take this too seriously though, it's just a suggestion to increase the interrest for your product. I don't mean to be anal about it.)

Don't kill the messenger. My first news post you know  ;-)
I just copy/pasted the information what I found from Frogger homepage.

But you are correct that you can't find "What it is" from the homepage, except the title which says "The amiga mpeg animation player"  :-) Clicking the Features-link gives you a list of supported codecs.

Ahh, didn't see the Features link there. (Perhaps a hint to the web designer to add more links to it ? ;)

Anyway, I just wanted to point out that not everyone knows what Frogger is, and that it can be a good idea to add a bit more solid info on a news item.

But as I said earlier, I don't want to be anal about it. It's just a suggestion. A lot of software updates gets posted on Amiga news sites that has just about zero information in the news item about it. It can be a good way of getting users by using a bit more advertisive language in news items to "sell" the product than just say "New version of wierdname.app. ." as one can see from time to time on both Amiga.org and Ann.

Frogger?  I thought this was the video game.  Codecs--what has that to offer us Amigans?

"The Amiga MPEG Animation System"--what's that?

Obviously, I can't get this thing to run on my A4k/PPC.

Sigh.
