Q: Can YAM be set to not display read mail. IIRC, it never used to be able to, but I wondered if it had been implemented yet?

IMAP would be sweeet. I switched to Simplemail some time ago, but I will change back to YAM if it gets IMAP support.

Hmm, I think I'd settle for eliminating the few remaining crash problems and improving the word-wrap! ;-)  (An integrated option for reading HTML email via an external program or datatype would also be handy...)

This feature has been in YAM since its earliest versions.

All you have to do is add a mime type html .htm...whatever and send it to an external iewer such as AWeb, IBrowse,
Voyager, Next, Simple HTM, etc.  It's been there all along! There are alot of things in YAM that people don't realize are there.

Once you set up the mime type. and you get an html email which I HATE, you hit your display button, select html and boom
up pops your viewer of choice displaying the awful html email. IMO html for email sucks. Html was never
intended for email, but the fact remains that YAM can do what you say you wish it could do.

Oh...I forgot to mention that I have never had any
problems with YAM crashing, not one and I've used
it exclusively since it has been available. I have read
of others that have had problems, but I have never
seen them myself.

IMHO Simplemail has better support for html-emails, since it can show them without external programs.
Html in emails does indeed suck, so Simplemail shows the message in plain text and the html-part is shown as an icon at the bottom. Clicking it will display the message in html-format.

It would be good if YAM used an HTML mui custom class to automatically show HTML emails properly. Yes HTML in emails is crap, but it would be nice to see them without messing about.

There is a very good HTML class written by Alan Odgaard(sp?) which could probably be used.  There would be an option to view HTML files automatically, which would use the custom class to display the email if HTML was detected.  I'm sure this would be fairly easy to implement.
