thats better coverage :)

but im waiting for the OS4 annoucement we're all been waiting for... My thoery unfortunatly is that it'll spread around the world that AmigaOS is back.

Thats a bad thing because its not finished yet, but most people will think it is up to scratch with todays most modern operating systems....

Then there will be disapointment, and AmigaOS will suffer a bad set back...

o dear, its all doom and gloom...

/me is nitpicking..... again  :-P

The applications that will accompany the Z100 are being developed by the Amiga Development Community and range from well-known games to messaging services and business applications from Amiga's catalogue,

Well know games ? That would fit for some of the classics like "R-Type","Lotus" or
"Lemmings", but not for those available for the DE (PlanetZ).

Also I haven't seen any REAL SW apart from the gamepack, defintly no
buisness-SW or messaging stuff.

Oh and while I'm on the rampage:
If AInc really had a good relation with Nokia, why is it that the DE comes on a
cell-phone-brand I've never heard before (*), and not on the Communicator ?

(*) I'm not really interested in those, and I doubt that apart from Nokia,Siemens,
Erickson,Motorala and Alcatel there is anybody who has a relevant market-share.
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

No one can fit a whole Pizza (large) in their mouth all at once, you have to take little bytes. Right now, Amiga Incs mouth is about the smallest there is.

Nice looking phone, very tempting since it will come with Amiga content.

On a slightly different note, has anybody seen or know of any forthcoming mobiles that will let you link up your own Digi cam to mobiles and send pics that way?
The new ones ive seen mentioned seen to come with the camera build in, hmm alittle USB port on the phone and the right drivers would be great!

FYI Denso is NOT a minor cellphone producer.  In the USA, they produce CDMA phones for Sprint PCS under the Touchpoint name.  I have a Denso TP2200.
I sell Sprint phones, and 3G is being turned on this weekend.  While USA cellular is behind Europe, the Sprint 1.9Ghz CDMA phones are the cutting edge here.
Interesting note (I didn't sign the NDA :)  the new CDMA phones (like the Denso) are full color and have a lot of cool features.  One of the games that was shown on the powerpoint presentation looked suspiciously like Road Rash on the A500.
I haven't gotten the answer as to whether or not the Sprint phones are running Amiga Anywhere, but the Sendo announcement leads me to think they are.
That is HUGE news as Sprint is the fastest growing carrier in the US.  My company sells thousands  (sometimes tens of thousands) of their phones every day.
BOING!

@A3KOne

So Sendo is "big" overthere ?
Never to old to learn something new  :-D

Well "Road Rash" is again something that I don't know ....  :-x

But you should also remember that AInc isn't the only player in
the PDA/Phone-game-buisness, and that McBill has the tendency to
announce stuff quite "early"  ;-)

AFAIK PlanetZ is still their "big one", and I wouldn't call
that impressive.

#A3KOne

I read that some Sprint tv commercial actually showed a phone running AmigaDE content! Haven't seen it myself though so I can't tell you what model it was.

Sounds good that Sendo are a bigger company than most people (apart from Asian!) thought. Asian mentioned that their investors where huge companies, don't remember who they were..

@Kronos

The company "Sendo" Is little known, but they private label a huge amount of phones for Sprint.
If PCS phones are going to come with AA, Amiga will be everywhere soon.
With Sprint being the first American company to offer 3G, and the only nationwide CDMA system, involvement with them would be incredible for Amiga.
I hope they are involved.... Starting today, the average television viewer will be exposed to 27 Sprint 3G commercials per week.
I haven't gotten the 3G phones in my shop yet, as we are in a secondary market and inventory is not yet adequate to supply all 7000 of our stores.  We did get a dummy phone in of the new Sanyo 4900 :) .
3G here is going to be the biggest product rollout in wireless since the birth of Cellular.

One more note....

Doing a little research, I have found that Sendo is going to be the supplier of GSM/GPRS phones for Cingular Wireless, who is making the transition this fall.

The phone that Cingular (The USA's second largest Cellular carrier behind Verizon) will be selling?
The Z100, which is the phone preloaded with Amiga Anywhere.
Many of our shops also carry Cinuglar service, though we don't do near the numbers nationally with Cingular (Cellular) that we do with Sprint (PCS).
Cingular is very much big league with 22M customers and 14.3 Billion is revenue.

All that being said, I really hope that AA is on the sprint side too... I heard Amiga and Sprint mentioned in the same sentence a few weeks back and my hopes are high.
