Frogger 2.02 is available!
« on: August 06, 2002, 12:51:29 AM »
From the Frogger Website:
" This release fixes most of the bugs reported by users, there is also one new codec (Motion JPEG). Last, but not least, Frogger can now display .mp4 files, created with QT6. For a full list of changes, please refer to changelog, included in Frogger archives. Please note, that codecs were updated as well, if you already have them installed, you can just grab update archive, otherwise get archive with all codecs."

Yup! I'm a registered user of Frogger too, unfortunately I have nothing to play it on now. If the bugs all get ironed out, and a little optimisation happens this could be a world class player. Good stuff!

This is a personal opinion... I think Frogger should be included in the "contributions" drawer but as the demo only.  Sebastian Jedruszkiewicz has done an amazing job with Frogger.

Wouldn't it be great if it came as the standard player for OS4.

Anyone at Hyperion or Amiga Inc reading this?

Hint Hint, Nudge Nudge ;-)

I like riva&moovid... I found Frogger too slow... I only have a 060/60 and it's damn slow, it's like watching a slideshow.
I would prefer a Moovid version with the new os, not a slow and unoptimized program like Frogger. There are lot of formats supported but they haven't much use because you can't see a video properly. I bet that the next moovid version is going to be a lot faster (and It will also support Mpg1/2/4).
If you don't have a ppc or x86 Frogger has no use (except slideshows)

Ummm and BTW riva is also a lot faster than frogger. The author should stop adding new formats and start to optimize, because it's a dead slow program.

On an unasisted 060/60 yes it would be slow. However on my 060/66 with Delfina(hardware assisted) it was quite good. Let's keep things in perspective. Any 60-66Mhz computer is underpowered. Yes there were some bug to be squashed, and yes optimisations could be done, but it seems to be the most actively supported player out there.

Moovid is a good program, but it is very limited in support.

Wrong. Even on 060 with DSP(Delfina), Frogger is quite usable.

Riva is VERY VERY fast, but sound support is terrible, features is nonexistant and I seriously doubt there will ever be an update.

I wouldn't say it so curt, but I agree. Frogger is an excelent product with tons of good features but it could use some optimisation.
