Where has SASG gone?
« on: July 11, 2002, 12:35:59 AM »
It appears that SASG, authors/distributors of MUI, Magic Workbench and other software have disappeared.  Their former website, http://www.sasg.com, is now redirecting viewers to a site for "Telecon Communications Corporation".
Should we send out a posse?

My last successful registration of a product from them was MagicWB ages ago for an a600.

I was trying to legally obtain MUI v3.8 to no avail, but restorted to obtaining a copy.

Yet another developer goes A.W.O.L leaving little trace of obtaining original copyrighted material.

This is why I started archiving 'MY ORGINALS' of older/rarer material and uploading to my website, which some may disagree with.

Same problem with CrossDOS v7 Gold, very few dealers stock it. In my research I found most dealers have actually removed it from stock.

But what can you do? Especially when people are genuinely prepared to purchase software that is no longer available. Do you agree this promotes piracy?

What if your originals have become corrupted, damaged or even stolen?

I'm trying to find replacements for AudioMaster/Plus, my 13 y/o originals of Deluxe Paint III are now corrupt, old software, but ideal for children and teens to play with on an a500 [no offence to Dan Silvia].

So much debation..

Skippy, thanks for putting up your web site. I think I'll put a link from mine.
